Data Sharing Policy

The Journal of Integrative Sport Science and Human Performance supports the principles of transparency, verifiability, and reusability in research processes.


General Principles

JISSHP encourages the responsible, ethical, and secure sharing of research data whenever possible. Data sharing is important for improving scientific transparency, enabling verification of research findings, and strengthening scholarly knowledge production.

Principles of Data Sharing

  • Authors are expected to provide a clear statement regarding the accessibility of the datasets used in their studies.
  • Where appropriate, datasets should be stored in reliable institutional repositories, open data archives, or field-appropriate platforms.
  • Shared data should be sufficiently organized and documented to allow verification of the study findings.
  • If data are not shared, the reason for this should be clearly stated.

Data Availability Statement

Authors are encouraged to provide a Data Availability Statement within the manuscript or during the submission process. This statement should clearly indicate where the data are stored, who may access them, and under what conditions access is granted.

Ethical, Privacy, and Legal Restrictions

  • Data containing personal information, confidentiality commitments, or ethics-based restrictions may not be shared publicly.
  • In studies involving human participants, data sharing must be conducted in accordance with participant privacy and data protection principles.
  • Data sharing must comply with relevant national and international regulations, ethics committee decisions, and institutional rules.

Editorial Review

  • The editorial board may request additional clarification from the author(s) regarding data sharing or data accessibility when necessary.
  • For studies in which data are not shared, the adequacy of the stated justification may be subject to editorial evaluation.
  • When required for scientific reliability, anonymized data or supplementary materials may be requested.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their data sharing statements are accurate, clear, and consistent. The storage, protection, appropriate anonymization, and ethically compliant sharing of data remain the responsibility of the authors.
